# Como configurar um servidor SMTP

Configurar e parametrizar serviço de SMTP para envio de e-mail pelo sistema.

### **O que é e como funciona um servidor SMTP no Ábaris**

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) é o protocolo padrão usado para **enviar e encaminhar e-mails** pela internet.\
No caso do Ábaris, ele funciona como o “correio eletrônico” oficial do software na sua instituição, sendo responsável por entregar mensagens como:

* recuperação de senha
* notificações de eventos no sistema
* solicitação de assinaturas (*Ábaris Sign*)
* e todos os processos envolvendo envio de e-mails.

Configuar o SMTP de forma correta no Ábaris pode evitar problemas como:

* **Falhas no envio >** mensagens ficam presas ou nem chegam a sair.
* **Bloqueio por provedores >** IPs e domínios mal configurados são vistos como suspeitos.
* **Queda na taxa de entrega (ou bounce) >** mensagens caem na caixa de spam.

Ao configurar o serviço de SMTP marcando a flag SSL, o Ábaris espera comunicação apenas com a porta 465 (SSL). Se o serviço estiver configurado com a porta 587 (TLS), é possível que haja falha na autenticação e consequentemente, falha na entrega das mensagens.
