# Autenticação e segurança em APIs no Zeev

Uma API é uma porta de entrada para sistemas e dados sensíveis, por isso é preciso pensar em autenticação e segurança. Sem autenticação, qualquer pessoa poderia consultar, alterar ou apagar informações.

Segurança em API envolve duas dimensões principais: **autenticação** e **autorização**. Ao falarmos de **autenticação,** estamos pensando na possibilidade do acesso (como a chave de uma porta). Já ao falarmos de **autorização**, podemos fazer um paralelo com um armário já aberto, mas com gavetas que podem ser abertas ou não.
